Selling ASTRO A30 headset

Would anyone be interested in buying my white Astro A30s. I have used them 5 times maximum. All original casing and cords. I haven't used them in probably a year and a half. They have been in the original case and box for the entire two years I have had them practically, and I think it is about time to sell them. Post on here if anyone is interested. (PAYPAL)

The Eye of the Hurricane can be explained as the calm or quiet center. It is the respite given by Mother Nature in a time of chaos. You can never prevent a hurricane seeing how it is an act of Mother Nature. All that one can do is prepare in the best way possible to try and remain comfortable, safe, and even alive. Major League Gaming boarded our windows, stocked our pantries, and spoiled us to the point of carelessness. They’ve continued to build on the house that is ‘Halo’ making us more and more arrogant and feeling even more entitled to their support. Ladies and gentlemen we are now in the Eye of that Hurricane and MLG has taken down our metaphorical defenses, food, and now left us in a state of panic and has forced us to take a huge reality check. That reality check is that there is a nicer more valuable house next door, ‘StarCraft 2’.

Now we sit twiddling our thumbs and speculating about how nice it will be when the storm is over, ‘Halo 4’. We forget the glimpse of what we can do that we saw in Columbus, Ohio. And now risk the threat of permanent dependency destroying the foundation Halo was built on, Passion, excitement, and genuine drive. Major League Gaming has forced us to pick up the tools they have left and has given us the responsibility to survive. High quality streams, The Halo Council, open support from companies like Steelseries, Gamma Labs, and Bonafide Boards. Enthusiasts like the Suddoth twins making an upstart gaming company called the Console Gaming League (CGL). Now will it be the size of MLG? I wish them the best of luck and admire their enthusiasm and current success in creating widely accepted new settings. So now the question is who will inspire the fire that is our re-dedication to greatness? Who will stand strong and firmly say, “ MLG is not Halo. We, are Halo.”

Adderall vs. Gamma Labs

Having motivation, focus, and concentration are key in becoming successful in the Electronic Sports competitive scene. A perfect balance of these attributes can make a gamer seemingly unstoppable. For years, there has been a prescription over the counter drug call “Adderall”, that seems to give most gamers the upper hand. But what is someone who is not prescribed truly risking for temporary recognition and success?

“Adderall has downsides for gaming - doesn't make u better - all mental.” Says a tweet from 5 time National Champion Tom “Ogre 2” Ryan.

“I don’t need Adderall to play well. Never have, never will.” Says Kyle “Chig” Lawson team captain of MLG Pro team ‘Fnatic’

Adderall increases dopamine flow in the frontal cortex then allows the brain to carry on its executive functions as a normal brain would, thus counteracting the effects of ADHD (Attention deficit hyperactive disorder). But what happens when a brain whose executive functions work properly is treated with such a powerful stimulant? Most scientists will tell you that the health risks of taking the drug normally are virtually non-existent. But also will tell you that there is a high risk of dependency.

Here are my top 3 reasons I believe Gamma Labs is better than the effects of Adderall in the long run. First of all, Gamma Labs has NO CRASH. Coming Back

I've been AWOL from gaming, TLN, and Halo for quite a long time now due to things in my life, but I want to come back! Soon I'll be moving out and will have a chance to re enter the scene. It seems like the landscape has changed quite a bit since my hiatus, but I've always been an avid proponent of the scene. I think what Rick is doing is a wonderful thing and I'm glad to be coming back strong to the competitive scene. I'm excited so hit me up in a few weeks and I'll be ready to game hard! I'll run anything but I always have a soft spot for MLG fours, halo at it's finest.

I know this is way off topic of gaming and stuff but i thought this may be a good idea.

I myself suffer from depression.. Finally going to the doctors today actually... i should have went a long time ago, but i am just making this tread so that if anyone else has this issue and needs/wants someone to talk to then feel free to message me! i am a great listener and i am willing to help anyone i can, plus who knows maybe we will end up both helping each other!

Update: Well doctor is sending me to the hospital/emergency room... he wanted us to go last night but i was way to tired to sit around for another few hours and that's IF they would have even let me out cause of the suicidal thoughts... i go tomorrow and i do want the counciling and stuff i just really hope they don't keep me there for a couple days under suicide watch.. rather not be trapped in a hospital for days-.- lol. but thought i would update everyone! if anyone wants to talk still just send me a pm!

Update 2 for anyone who is still checking in: was at the hospital for like 6-7 hours wed night, was not sure if they were gonna keep me over night or not but they let me out. they put me on a urgent counciling list and said it would probably be like 2-3 weeks well they called yesterday and said they want me in now haha.. probably not a good thing but good in a way that i'm getting my help that i need.

FBWalshyFTW has agreed to work with TLN on some gameplay submissions!

Submit your gameplays to me through the next 2 weeks. I will look through as much of it as I can and choose the best one to send to FBWalshyFTW.

In turn, he will upload the gameplay, along with the TLN intro, to his Youtube channel. The TLN link will go in the video description, and he will further direct viewers through video annotations.

This is a big deal for TLN users, and I expect a lot of entries. You are not limited in the amount of entries, but I would like certain things.

--Good Gameplays (use your judgement, I'll filter through them)

--Full Gameplays (no quitters, no LAG outs, no clips)

--Your Gameplays (do not submit for your friends. If they want submitted, they can start a TLN account and do it themselves)

--No limit (submit as many as you want. I may not watch them all, but I will try. Plus, I may use them for later submissions)

With that said, let's go!!!! Post your fileshare links here, and I will download and view your gameplays!!!

Setting up XBConnect

I have been talking with a few of you about XBConnect and you had questions on how to set it up, so I decided to make a guide :)

In short, XBC is a way to "LAN" with people from all over
It is a program that is installed on your PC.
It is mostly used for halo and halo 2

1. Network
You will have to connect your Xbox, PC and Modem together on the same network.
Here is how i have mine running.

*I am using a Belkin network switch to connect them all. You could use any type of switch or hub for this. I used to use my wireless router for this.

2.Installing XBC
You can install XBC at this link. There is a pro version you can buy for 15$ and the features of it are listed there.

3.Startup
You will start at a screen like this.(i have a skin installed, yours will look somewhat different)

Make a XBC account and sign in.
Turn your xbox on and start up halo 2(or other games)
Dont sign in into live, just go to system link
Your XBC screen should look like this

Click halo 2(or desired game)
the list that comes up are the hosts for games, you can see what they are playing and how many people are in the lobby.
Click on one and hit join
*you should see the game pop up in system link on h2 is it goes correctly, if it comes back with a error or something, retry joining the game a few times

Pick the game in system link and join the lobby and you should be all set to play :)

4.Notes
--There are alot more features i didnt talk about, play around with XBC and find them.
--Most people dont have mics however they do work on XBC
--If you eve need help, there is normally someone in the main chat thay can help
--There is a faq on the XBC website (http://www.xbconnect.com/index.php?topic=faq)

5. Patches and Maps
If you still have the maps and title updates on your 360 you will be able to play on them and host updated lobbys, if you dont then you cannot play the maps and if you host a lobby it will play as prepatched (4 hit beatdowns).
* You cannot download the maps or patches from xbox because the server was shutdown
*You can transfer the maps over with a special cord but i wont get into that. Feel free to look it up tho, its not to difficult

A Call to Arms

Yep, another long drawn out post from me. It's a good read though, worth it IMO.

Not gunna lie, I'm kinda disappointed in the lack of enthusiasm...
After that huge push pre-Columbus, I thought for a moment that there was light at the end of the tunnel. I was wrong.

It seems all I've heard in regards to Halo in the past weeks was how MLG isn't going to have it at Anaheim and how MLG needs to remember their roots and remember that Halo made them what they are today and it's all Bungie's fault, yadda yadda yadda. It's time to take a step back and look around. All of this "Halo is MLG and MLG is Halo" bullshit needs to come to an end. Everyone is mad that MLG isn't carrying Halo into the future, but they are too tunnel-visioned to notice that there are several smaller leagues and tournaments popping up all over the country.

They're not trying to take MLG's place, they're trying to keep Halo alive, competitively speaking. They're attempting to tap into the market and the community that MLG has tossed to the side because they weren't "big enough" to produce the crowds and profit margins that a company of that size requires.

All we wanted MLG to do was listen to the fans, give us good competitive settings, some decent prizes, and let us play! Now that all of these other companies are sprouting up, the general consensus still seems to be "MLG, where you at?" Honestly, the mindset that everything that involves competitive Halo needs to somehow be connected to MLG is what's gotten us into this "all-or-nothing" situation. Right now MLG is giving us nothing, and it seems that the community is ok with that.

We've all heard stories of the lonely girl who gets in a relationship with an abusive cheater boyfriend, and after all of the fights, hospital visits, lonely nights, and breakups... she keeps going back to him. From outside, it's hard not to look at it and just go "are you stupid or something?" ... Why do we, as a community, continue to do this to MLG when there are obviously "plenty more fish in the sea"?

Consider this a call to arms, my friends. It's time to cut the umbilical cord and make ourselves responsible for our own destiny.

You guys aren't really going to let yourself be shown up by a bunch of Gears and CoD players, are you? When it was their heads on the chopping block, they all stepped up and made big things happen. Now those games average more viewers on streaming sites than Halo with all of it's "Pro Streamers".

Oh, and want to know the absolute BEST thing about walking away from this MLG dependency? You no longer HAVE to play Reach! :D :D You can start up or ask for Halo 3 ladders and tournaments back, you can even get Halo 1 and Halo 2 XBC games going! Run your own LANs in your own backyards. Go fucking apeshit, I don't care.

I just wanna game.
